Officer hospitalized following motorcycle crash in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: A Belize Police Constable sustained minor injuries following a motorcycle accident in Orange Walk Town on Wednesday night.

Police visited the Northern Regional Hospital emergency ward at around 8:00 p.m. on March 11, 2026, where they observed 25-year-old David Banner, a Belizean police constable, receiving treatment.

Banner was reportedly suffering from minor scrapes to his right hand and elbow, along with a small cut wound behind his head.

According to the officer, he was riding his red Lifan 250 motorcycle along San Andres Street in Orange Walk Town heading toward Philip Alvarez Park when he collided with the side of a road barrier.

The impact caused him to fall off the motorcycle, resulting in the injuries he sustained.

Medical personnel treated Banner and a medico form was issued.

Police say traffic investigators are continuing their inquiries into the accident.
