Unstable weather brings showers and possible thunderstorms across Belize

Rain chances increase as Belize heads toward an unsettled midweek forecast

By Belize Live News Staff: Somewhat moist and unstable conditions are affecting Belize today, bringing cloudy skies, showers, and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms across the country.

According to the 6:01 a.m. forecast issued on March 5, 2026, cloudy spells are expected throughout the day and tonight. A few showers are likely nationwide, with a higher chance of isolated thunderstorms developing, particularly over northern and central areas.

Forecasters say shower activity is expected to decrease later this evening before redeveloping overnight, mainly affecting some coastal regions.

Marine conditions are choppy with easterly winds blowing between 10 and 15 knots and waves ranging from 3 to 5 feet.

Temperatures will reach highs of 84°F (29°C) along the coast, 87°F (31°C) inland, and around 80°F (27°C) in the hills.

The outlook for Friday and Friday night calls for cloudy skies with showers likely developing along the coast during the morning before gradually spreading across the country in the afternoon.
