By Belize Live News Staff: An 88-year-old farmer from Yo Creek Village is recovering at the Northern Regional Hospital after being stabbed Tuesday morning at Los Panchos Farm along the Tower Hill Estate.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on February 24, 2026. Police say the elderly man was working at the farm when he was approached by another individual who accused him of eating his groceries.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly threw a farm fork at the victim, striking him in the chest and arm.
Despite his injuries, the elderly farmer reportedly removed the fork from his chest and walked toward the main road, where a passing motorist transported him to the hospital. He was later admitted in stable condition.
Police processed the scene and recovered the weapon. A 48-year-old man has since been detained as investigations continue.
