Man found dead inside Carmelita home

By Belize Live News Staff: A 48-year-old man was found unresponsive inside his bedroom at Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District, on Friday, 13th February 2026.

Reports were made shortly after 1:00 p.m. Police visited the residence where he lived with his 72-year-old mother and observed his motionless body lying face up on the floor beside a wooden bed.

Information gathered revealed that he had suffered a stroke in January 2024 and recently complained of pain to the right side of his upper body but did not seek medical attention. He was last seen alive around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday when he went to bed.

No visible injuries were observed, and no foul play is suspected.

The body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead and now awaits a post-mortem examination.
