Burglars target village home while owners are at work

Woman reports burglary in San Felipe

By Belize Live News Staff: A young couple is left picking up the pieces after their home on Spanish Town Street, Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District was targeted by burglars during the workday.

The residents, a tour guide and an airline agent, reported the incident to police on Monday evening. They had secured their green concrete home early that morning before heading to work, but returned around 6:40 PM to find the house ransacked.

A closer inspection revealed that the culprits gained entry by cutting open a window screen and removing two glass louvres. The thieves made off with approximately $1,200 worth of electronics, including an HP laptop, a smart projector, speakers, and power banks.

Police confirmed that the scene was processed by Scenes of Crime personnel. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains open.
