Orange Walk man arrested in Texas on organized crime and fraud charges

By Belize Live News Staff: A Belizean man originally from Orange Walk, Jorge Celiz, is facing major legal trouble in the United States after being detained in Tarrant County, Texas, on two felony warrants issued out of Titus County. According to official inmate records, Celiz was booked on November 23, 2025, and remains held without bond.

Authorities in Titus County issued warrants for:

Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity

Insurance Fraud amounting to at least USD $30,000 but under $150,000

Both charges are classified as serious felonies under Texas law, with Celiz assigned bond amounts of $200,000 and $100,000 respectively. However, his booking record lists “No Bond” conditions, indicating that he is not eligible for release while the legal process is underway.

The details of the alleged offenses have not yet been disclosed, and investigators in Texas have not released further information on the nature of the organizational activity or the fraudulent scheme.

Celiz will remain in custody at the Tarrant County Corrections Center as proceedings move forward. It is unclear whether additional charges will be filed or whether further Belizean nationals are linked to the case.
