Belize to see mostly dry conditions while monitoring Tropical Storm Melissa

Sunny skies continue as dry conditions prevail across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect mostly sunny skies today with a few cloudy spells, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Only isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected, with a few lingering offshore tonight.

Forecaster Crystal Rosalez noted that a somewhat moist northeasterly airflow continues to influence local conditions, keeping the atmosphere relatively stable.

Winds will blow from the north to northeast at 10 to 20 knots, and the sea state will be moderate, with waves between 4 to 6 feet.

Daytime highs are forecast at 87°F (31°C) along the coast, 91°F (33°C) inland, and 78°F (26°C) in the hills.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Melissa, located about 160 miles southeast of Kingston, Jamaica, remains nearly stationary with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph.
The system is not an immediate threat to Belize, but meteorologists continue to closely monitor its progress across the Caribbean.

The extended outlook for Sunday calls for cloudy spells and isolated showers, with a few more developing over northern and central areas during the day and along the coast at night.
