By Belize Live News Staff: The schoolbag controversy has officially transformed into a wave of generosity, as Car Guys Belize, A&R Enterprises Ltd, and Vin’s Liquors are now collaborating on an expanded back-to-school donation.
Car Guys owner Said Perdomo confirmed today that A&R has fully joined the initiative, agreeing to match his original pledge of 250 authentic JanSport backpacks. But the gesture has now grown into something bigger, beyond just bags.
Perdomo announced that the partners are sweetening the offer by including more backpacks, books, and other school supplies to ensure that even more needy children across Belize are reached.
Kelvin Li of Vin’s Liquors Limited has also joined the effort, teaming up with Car Guys and A&R to deliver the expanded donation to Superintendent Aaron “Gambis” Gamboa, who will oversee the distribution.
“We are coming up with a sweeter offer to include more bags, books, and other school supplies to reach more needy children,” Perdomo said in his social media post. He added that the partners hope to have the full package finalized and delivered by tomorrow.
What began as a heated debate over fake backpacks has now evolved into a powerful example of unity and community spirit, with major Belizean businesses rallying together to support students in need.
