Mostly dry conditions continue; Inland areas to reach 96°F

Mild and dry weather marks the end of October in Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect another hot and mostly dry day, with only isolated showers or thunderstorms forecast.

Forecaster Francisca Wellington reported that today’s weather will bring sunny skies and a few cloudy spells, with the chance of showers mainly over the Maya Mountains this afternoon. Tonight, a few showers or thunderstorms could develop over inland and southern regions.

Light and variable winds will keep the seas calm with waves of 1–3 feet. Maximum daytime highs are forecast at 96°F (36°C) inland, 90°F (32°C) along the coast, and 80°F (27°C) in the hills. Nighttime lows are expected to dip to 73°F inland, 77°F along the coast, and 68°F in the hills.

In the Atlantic, Hurricane Erin continues to strengthen. At 6:00 a.m., the system was located 665 miles southwest of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph. Erin is moving northwest at 7 mph and, importantly, does not pose any threat to Belize.

For Wednesday and Wednesday night, the forecast remains warm, fair, and mostly dry, continuing the current weather pattern.

Today’s tides include a low at 2:09 p.m. and a high at 8:26 p.m. Sunrise was at 5:36 a.m., with sunset at 6:15 p.m.
