By Belize Live News Staff: Police have made an arrest in the murder investigation of Franklin Enrique Alas Arenivar, whose lifeless body was discovered in Bella Vista Village, Toledo District, on Tuesday, August 12.
Officials confirmed that 40-year-old Santiago Alberto Trigueros, a Salvadoran national and laborer/mechanic residing in Bella Vista, was formally arrested and charged today with the crime of murder.
Police say the charge comes after swift investigative work in the days following the discovery of Alas Arenivar’s body. Official details surrounding the motive or exact circumstances of the killing remain under wraps as the investigation continues.
Trigueros is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
