By Belize Live News Staff: A home invasion in Blackman Eddy ended in tragedy late Wednesday night, leaving one of the alleged intruders dead.
According to initial information, at least two men entered a residence shortly before midnight. An altercation reportedly ensued, during which one of the assailants was shot and killed. The remaining suspect (s) escaped and are now being sought by police.
Witnesses say the incident caused panic in the neighborhood, but none of residents of the targeted home sustained any life-threatening injuries. Police have not disclosed the identity of the deceased pending notification of his family.
The motive for the invasion remains unclear, but police sources say investigators are pursuing several leads.
The Belize Police Department urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of the two remaining suspects to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
