Belize taps into solar power future at regional ISA meeting in Chile

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is poised to benefit in big ways from the Seventh International Solar Alliance (ISA) Regional Meeting in Santiago, Chile, where energy leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean are charting the course for a solar-powered future.

Held from August 4–6, the high-level gathering brings together key players to boost solar deployment, digital transformation, and green energy financing. Representing Belize are Dr. Leroy Almendarez, CEO in the Ministry of Public Utilities, and Mr. Ryan Cobb, Energy Director.

Through its participation, Belize gains access to ISA-backed financing, training for energy professionals, support for youth in solar entrepreneurship, and the latest innovations in green hydrogen, smart grids, and storage solutions.

The outcome? A major step forward in Belize’s push for clean, inclusive, and future-ready energy systems.

Belize’s role at the table signals its strong commitment to climate action, regional collaboration, and building a resilient solar energy economy.
