By Belize Live News Staff: Personnel from the Public Service Union (PSU) blocked the entrance road to the Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) this morning, causing major disruptions for tour operators, travelers, and airport staff.
The blockade, captured in photos circulating on social media, shows PSU members standing across the access road in protest, preventing vehicles from entering or leaving the airport compound. Dozens of airport transport operators were reportedly trapped inside the facility, unable to carry out pickups or drop-offs.
Police are on the scene monitoring the situation.
