Belize Airports Authority resolves security contract dispute at no cost to public

By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Airports Authority has officially settled all contractual matters with its two former security service providers, Four Diamond Security Limited and ISecurity Limited, bringing an end to the previous agreements without any financial cost to the Authority.

According to a statement issued by the Belize Airports Authority, deeds of release were signed on Friday, June 13, 2025, marking a formal closure of all obligations between the Authority and the two companies. While the transition has been completed, the Belize Airports Authority emphasized that its investigation into the tendering process that led to the original awarding of the contracts is still ongoing. Further steps may be taken pending the outcome of this internal review.

The Authority assured the public that airport operations remain unaffected and that a new security strategy is already in place. The updated approach is designed to align Belize’s airports with the highest global safety standards and strengthen operational oversight.
