By Belize Live News Staff: After days of heavy rain, Belizeans may finally see a few breaks of sunshine today.
The Met Service says skies will be cloudy with sunny breaks this Sunday. Showers and light rain that began early this morning across most of the country should decrease somewhat by the afternoon.
But the wet weather is not over. An excessive rainfall warning remains in place, with up to 4 more inches of rain possible in some areas. Tonight, showers and light rain will focus mainly on the coast, with the chance of isolated thunderstorms.
High temperatures will reach 86°F on the coast, 90°F inland and 79°F in the hills.
A small craft caution is also in effect. Seas are choppy with northeast to east winds of 10 to 15 knots and waves of 3 to 5 feet.
Looking ahead to Monday and Monday night, skies will be cloudy at times with a few showers, light rain and isolated thunderstorms, mostly over the south.
Today’s tides include a low at 10:43am, a high at 5:02pm and a low at 9:02pm. The sun sets at 5:28pm.
No tropical development is expected over the region in the next 48 hours.
