By Belize Live News Staff: The rain is not letting up just yet.
According to the Met Service, showers and light rain that started offshore this morning are expected to spread across most of Belize by this afternoon, along with a few thunderstorms.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy through tonight, when the activity is expected to focus mainly on coastal and offshore areas.
With an excessive rainfall warning in effect and up to 4 more inches of rain possible in some areas, residents are urged to stay alert and keep up with official weather updates.
A small craft caution is also in place, as winds may become gusty during heavy showers and thunderstorms. Seas are a light chop with waves of 2 to 4 feet and northeast to east winds of 5 to 15 knots.
Sunday brings some relief, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Still, a few showers, periods of light rain and isolated thunderstorms are likely over most areas during the day, then mainly along the coast Sunday night.
