By Belize Live News Staff: A woman entrusted with checking on an empty Orange Walk home came back from a trip to Mexico to find it stripped.
The 67 year old caretaker had been visiting the Asuncion Street property regularly to keep it secure. On her latest visit on October 3, she discovered someone had pulled away plywood at the back, ripped out the electrical wiring and taken the ceiling sheetrock.
The loss is estimated at $12,680, most of it in electrical wiring and related materials.
