By Belize Live News Staff: The month of celebrations starts with sunshine.
The National Meteorological Service says a light and generally dry easterly airflow is in place over Belize today, bringing sunny skies with a few cloudy spells and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers stay isolated.
It is a hot one. Inland areas climb to 96 degrees Fahrenheit, the coast hits 90 and even the hills reach 83.
Water conditions are as calm as they get. Easterly winds at just 5 to 10 knots, slight seas and waves of 1 to 3 feet.
Wednesday looks the same.
In the tropics, Tropical Storm Edouard is sitting about 65 miles south southeast of Cameron, Louisiana, moving west northwest at 8 miles per hour with winds of 40 miles per hour. It poses no threat to Belize.
September is historically the busiest month of the Atlantic hurricane season, so keep the updates close over the coming weeks.
