By Belize Live News Staff: A 50 year old Orange Walk businessman is recovering after an attack inside his own bedroom.
Police say the man had been at a wake on Temash Street in the early hours of August 21 when two men approached him. He knew one only by face.
He went home to Sarstoon Street afterward and went to bed.
Sometime later he heard his name being called outside. Thinking it was someone he knew, he told the person to come in.
The man walked into his bedroom and began touching him in a sexual manner. He told him no.
His house has no electricity and no running water, but moonlight was enough for him to recognise the man from the wake, standing there completely naked.
He said again that he wanted nothing and lay back down. That is when a stone struck him in the face.
A struggle followed. He was hit again before he got out of the house and shouted for help. A friend came.
A doctor certified his injuries as wounding.
A 31 year old labourer of Yo Creek Village has been detained pending charges.
