By Belize Live News Staff: A morning patrol through San Jose Village ended with a motorcycle impounded and three charges laid.

Police say officers spotted a red and white Honlei motorcycle around 11am on Friday and signalled the rider to stop.

He pulled over without issue. Then the questions started.

Driver’s licence? Not with him. Insurance disc on the cycle? Not there. Licence sticker? Also missing.

Asked directly, he told officers he had no insurance and no licence for the motorcycle.

Officers confirmed his identity through a social security card, detained him and escorted him to the Trial Farm Police Sub Station. The motorcycle was impounded.

Victor Manuel Cowo, 28, a labourer of San Victor Village in the Corozal District, was charged that afternoon with failing to produce a driver’s permit, using a motor vehicle not covered by third party risk insurance, and using an unlicensed motor vehicle.

He chose to remain silent.

Three charges and no bike to ride home on.
