STEM U Foundation is running adult evening welding classes starting August 31, built around a 16 week schedule that works for people already working.
Pick one of two options. Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6pm to 8pm, or Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm. Either way, six hours a week.
The training covers MIG and Stick welding, both hands on, with the opportunity to certify in two positions.
That certification is the part worth paying attention to. A certified welder is a different proposition to someone who picked it up on a job site, and it shows up in what you can charge and where you can work.
Cost is BZ$1,150 with a payment plan available. Only 18 seats.
Classes are held at the STEM U Welding Lab at St. Ignatius High School.
