By Belize Live News Staff: Squeeze every drop out of today’s sunshine, Belize, because the umbrellas come off the bench tomorrow. Tuesday delivers one more fair, hot day, inland hitting a sizzling 95, before showers and thunderstorms work their way back into the picture on Wednesday.
The National Meteorological Service reports mainly fair and warm conditions today, sunny with a few cloudy spells, partly cloudy tonight, and only isolated showers anywhere on the map.
The heat is the day’s main character. Inland communities roast at 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) before relief arrives overnight at 72 (22 Celsius). The coast tops out at 89 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) with a warm low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills peak at 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and cool to a fresh 67 (19 Celsius). Water bottles and shade are today’s essential accessories, especially for anyone working outdoors.
The sea keeps things manageable, with easterly winds of 10 to 15 knots, light chop to choppy conditions, and waves of 2 to 5 feet.
Then comes the shift. Wednesday brings cloudy spells with a few showers or thunderstorms, mainly over northern, central, and offshore areas, easing by afternoon before the action redevelops over the south late Wednesday night, a classic wet-season two-step after nearly a week of dry skies.
The tropics, mercifully, stay out of the conversation, with no cyclone formation expected in the region over the next 48 hours.
