By Belize Live News Staff: The umbrellas did their weekend shift, and now they can stand down. Belize wakes to a fair and sunny Monday, with the showers that spread across the country on Saturday giving way to a settled, warm start to the week.
The National Meteorological Service reports generally fair conditions prevailing, with sunshine and a few cloudy spells today, partly cloudy skies tonight, and only isolated showers on the map. The one exception sits in the deep south, where the extreme Toledo District catches a few more showers and isolated thunderstorms through the morning before the clearing reaches there too.
The warmth stays dependable. Inland areas will bake at 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) before easing to 72 (22 Celsius) overnight. The coast tops out at 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a comfortable low of 79 (26 Celsius), while the hills reach 81 degrees Fahrenheit (27 Celsius) and cool to a fresh 67 (19 Celsius).
Boaters get another gentle day on the water, with easterly winds of 5 to 15 knots, a light chop, and waves of just 2 to 4 feet.
The tropics continue their kind streak as well, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours, quiet skies at the height of the season, and nobody complaining.
Tuesday keeps the pattern rolling, generally fair with only isolated showers, giving the week a smooth runway.
