A beautiful Friday as fair weather holds

By Belize Live News Staff: The umbrellas can stay home again today. Belize wakes to another stretch of warm, relatively dry weather, with sunshine ruling the day and the fair spell showing no sign of breaking before the weekend.

The National Meteorological Service reports sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today, turning partly cloudy tonight, with showers or thunderstorms staying isolated wherever they pop up at all.

The heat comes along for the ride. Inland areas will bake at 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 Celsius) before easing to 74 (23 Celsius) overnight. The coast tops out at 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) with a warm low of 82 (28 Celsius), while the hills reach 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and cool to a pleasant 68 (20 Celsius).

Boaters get a workable day too, with easterly winds of 10 to 20 knots, moderate seas, and waves of 4 to 6 feet.

In the tropics, all remains quiet, with no tropical cyclone formation expected anywhere in the region over the next 48 hours.

And the best news arrives with the outlook: Saturday and Saturday night stay mainly fair and warm, with only isolated showers or thunderstorms developing. From the cayes to Cayo, the weekend is shaping up gorgeous, and with the World Cup final set for Sunday afternoon, the weather could hardly have chosen a better time to behave.

As for the tides, today’s lows fall at 5:45 AM and 6:56 PM, with highs at 11:58 AM and 12:53 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:27 AM and sets this evening at 6:30 PM. This forecast was prepared by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
