By Belize Live News Staff: Getting to Belize is about to get a whole lot easier for travelers in the United States, as the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) and BermudAir unveil new nonstop flights linking five American cities directly with the Jewel.
The new services will connect Boston, Massachusetts; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and Tampa Bay, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, Florida, with Belize’s Philip Goldson International Airport. The move significantly expands the country’s air connectivity, opening the door to millions of potential visitors from key US markets. With the flights arriving in time for the peak winter travel season, sun-seeking travelers will have a convenient new way to reach Belize’s beaches, reefs, jungles, and Maya sites.
Hon. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, hailed the announcement as a significant milestone for the country’s tourism sector, saying the routes open Belize to millions of travelers across new major US markets. He noted that whether visitors come for the world’s second-largest barrier reef, the ancient Maya temples, or simply to relax in a stunning setting, the direct links ensure an easy start to their trip.
For BermudAir, the expansion is an exciting one. Founder and CEO Adam Scott said the airline was thrilled to add Belize to its network as the premium leisure carrier from North America, pointing to the strong satisfaction scores from its customers. He said that, together with Bermuda, the airline now connects US travelers to some of the region’s most exceptional destinations.
The bulk of the new routes will take off between December 18 and 21, 2026, while the Fort Lauderdale route gets a head start on October 26. All will be operated using BermudAir’s Embraer E190 aircraft. On top of that, travelers will be able to link up with BermudAir’s nonstop Belize City to Guatemala City service, launching December 19 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The new routes are a clear vote of confidence in Belize as a rising tourism destination, and a welcome boost for accessibility from the United States. Those looking to plan a trip can start booking at flybermudair.com.
