Dangriga police make an arrest in murder case

By Belize Live News Staff: Two people are now facing a murder charge in Dangriga, following an arrest by police.

According to authorities, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, police formally arrested and charged 25-year-old Naheem Bonilla, a Belizean welder from Dangriga Town, together with a 17-year-old male minor, also from the town. Both were jointly charged with the crime of murder.

The minor’s identity is not being disclosed, in line with standard reporting practice involving young people.

It is important to note that being charged is not a finding of guilt. Both individuals are entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until they are proven guilty before the court.
