By Belize Live News Staff: Belize has secured another valuable airlift opportunity with BermudAir confirming that nonstop service between Raleigh-Durham and Belize will begin later this year.
The airline says the route forms part of its continued Caribbean expansion strategy and reflects growing demand among American travelers seeking premium leisure destinations.
The flights will operate twice weekly throughout the winter and spring tourism season, connecting Belize directly with one of the fastest-growing metropolitan regions in the United States.
Tourism officials have long emphasized the importance of expanding airlift as a way to increase overnight arrivals, hotel occupancy and visitor spending throughout the country.
The new service comes at a time when Belize continues working to strengthen its tourism sector and diversify its visitor markets. Industry stakeholders believe direct connections such as Raleigh-Durham can help attract new travelers who may not have previously considered Belize due to limited flight options.
With the route scheduled to begin in December, the service is expected to support hotels, tour operators, restaurants and tourism businesses across Belize during one of the industry’s busiest periods.
