Traumatic brain injury killed one-year-old Orange Walk boy, autopsy finds

By Belize Live News Staff:  A post-mortem examination has officially confirmed that one-year-old Peter Wall died from injuries sustained after being run over by a motor vehicle in Indian Creek Village, Orange Walk District.

The autopsy was performed this afternoon between 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. at the Northern Regional Hospital morgue. The toddler’s body was formally identified at the facility by his uncle, Jacob Wall, in the presence of police officers and Scenes of Crime Technicians.

According to medical authorities, the final certified cause of death was ruled as traumatic brain injury and severe crush injuries to the head. The findings are entirely consistent with the child being struck and run over by a vehicle.

Police are currently working to determine the timeline of events, though no charges have been publicly announced at this time.
