Spirit Airlines closure hits low-cost travel to Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: Travelers in Belize are being advised to review their flight plans following the abrupt closure of Spirit Airlines.

The airline, known for its ultra-low-cost fares, has shut down operations after more than three decades in service. All flights have been cancelled, and customer support is no longer available.

At the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, Spirit had served as a key option for budget-conscious travelers flying to and from the United States. Its exit is expected to leave a gap in the market, particularly for those seeking affordable travel options.

Airport officials have issued notices advising passengers to stay informed and make alternative arrangements where necessary.

The closure is also expected to have a wider impact on regional travel, as thousands of passengers worldwide are now affected.
