Moist and unstable weather brings rain and thunderstorms across Belize

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service is forecasting moist and unstable conditions to continue across the country today, bringing cloudy skies along with showers and thunderstorms.

According to the 6:00 a.m. forecast, Belizeans can expect cloudy conditions throughout the day with a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms occurring nationwide. Activity is expected to become more concentrated over southern areas tonight.

Marine conditions are expected to be choppy, with east to northeast winds blowing between 5 to 15 knots and waves ranging from 3 to 5 feet.

Temperatures along the coast will reach highs of 82°F (28°C) and lows of 72°F (22°C), while inland areas will see warmer conditions with highs of 86°F (30°C) and lows of 68°F (20°C). In the hills, temperatures are expected to range from 70°F (21°C) to 62°F (17°C).

Looking ahead to Tuesday and Tuesday night, skies will remain cloudy at times with a few showers and possible isolated thunderstorms, mainly over the south, along with isolated activity in other areas.

Today’s tides include a high at 8:36 a.m., a low at 2:32 p.m., and another high at 8:47 p.m. Sunrise occurred at 5:48 a.m., with sunset expected at 6:05 p.m.
