Belize City Woman Charged with Wounding and Damage to Property

By Belize Live News Staff: A 28-year-old Belize City woman has been granted bail after being arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on charges of wounding and damage to property.

Asia Alexandra Pitts, who is unemployed, appeared unrepresented before a magistrate in Court #3 earlier this week. She was read two charges: one count of wounding upon Gailyn Panting and one count of damage to property. The damage charge relates to a gold chain valued at $3,800 and an iPhone 16 Pro Max valued at $4,500, allegedly belonging to the complainant.

Pitts pleaded not guilty to both charges.

With no objection to bail, the court granted her bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same amount. As part of her bail conditions, she must not contact or interfere with the virtual complainant, any members of her family, or any prosecution witnesses. She is also required to remain at least 100 yards away from the complainant.

Pitts was able to meet her bail and is scheduled to return to court on May 18, 2026, when the matter continues.
