By Belize Live News Staff: A 40-year-old man has been reported dead following a medical emergency on San Francisco Street on Monday morning.
Police say they responded to reports of a man experiencing seizures shortly before 10:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they were led to a residence where the man was found lying motionless inside an apartment.
Investigations revealed that the man had been in the company of an elderly resident when he suddenly began to tremble and collapsed. Efforts to seek help were made, but he was later found unconscious.
Authorities indicated that the deceased had been experiencing a high fever in recent weeks and had reportedly visited the Northern Regional Hospital one day prior for treatment.
He was officially pronounced dead at 11:44 a.m. Medical observations showed no visible injuries, and police have indicated that no foul play is suspected.
The body now awaits a post mortem examination as investigations continue.
