Victim injured while defending against two-machete attack in local village

By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk are investigating a violent incident that occurred early Sunday morning in San Jose Nuevo Palmar Village.

According to reports, a 19-year-old man was walking along Palmetto Street after leaving a social event when he was approached by another man armed with two machetes. The attacker allegedly swung the weapons at him.

The victim raised his hand to defend himself and sustained a cut wound to his hand. The suspect then reportedly left the area while issuing a death threat.

Police later detained and charged a suspect in connection with the incident. The injuries were classified as wounding, and investigations are ongoing.
