Teen Dies After Shooting in Guinea Grass Village

By Belize Live News Staff: An 18-year-old resident of Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk,  has died after being shot multiple times in an incident that has left the small community in mourning.

The victim has been identified as Noe Batun, a construction worker from the village. The shooting reportedly occurred at a location known as the Hidden Cool Spot, where he sustained severe gunshot injuries to the left side of his face, neck, and head.

Batun was initially rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk by his mother, where he received emergency medical treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transported by ambulance under police escort to Belize City for advanced medical care.

Despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, Batun later succumbed to his injuries. 🕊️

Police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. Residents of Guinea Grass Village have expressed shock and concern as authorities work to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible.

The investigation remains ongoing.
