Woman fights off knife attack near Orange Walk nightclub

By Belize Live News Staff: A woman narrowly escaped injury Monday night after being attacked near the Copa Cabana nightclub.

Around 8:15 p.m., she reported hearing fast footsteps behind her before being struck on the back of the head.

The attacker, described as a tall, slim-built male of Hispanic descent wearing a dark blue sweater, black pants, white slippers, and a hat, allegedly attempted to punch and stab her.

The woman fell to the ground and avoided the knife. A nearby man rushed to assist, causing the suspect to flee up San Francisco Street.

Police are searching for the unidentified assailant.
