60-year-old assaulted and robbed in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a daytime assault and robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon on East San Martin Street, Orange Walk.

Around 2:39 p.m. on February 24, 2026, a 60-year-old man reported that he was approached by two men who began hurling insults before physically attacking him.

The victim was allegedly punched, choked, and beaten during the incident. His mobile phone was stolen during the altercation.

The assault reportedly ended when a relative of the accused intervened, prompting the men to leave the area.

Medical authorities classified the injuries as harm. No arrests have been made as investigations continue.
