Motorcyclist injured in accident near Trinidad Village

By Belize Live News Staff: A 36-year-old man was injured Tuesday evening following a road traffic accident near the exit of Trinidad Village heading toward August Pine Ridge Village.

Police responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m., where they found Walter Cruz, a laborer of San Felipe Village, lying face up on the right-hand side of the road.

Cruz was observed with abrasions to both hands and complained of pain to the back of his head. Authorities noted that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

A red Meilun motorcycle bearing license plate OW MC 1726 was found approximately five feet away from Cruz. The motorcycle had minor damages to the left mirror, front fender, and seat.

Initial investigations indicate that around 6:30 p.m., Cruz was traveling toward San Felipe Village when he reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and fell, sustaining minor injuries.

He was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital by ambulance. A medico-legal form is to be issued as investigations continue.
