By Belize Live News Staff: Police responded to a traffic accident along San Estevan Road involving two pickup trucks on Wednesday.
Upon arrival, officers observed a white Ford F-150 bearing license plate OWC-24747 with damage to the right front light, broken signal light, and a dented bumper on the left side. The vehicle was seen off the road while traveling from Orange Walk Town toward San Estevan Village.
Also observed in a nearby drain was a red Toyota pickup bearing license plate OWC-19196 with damage to the left rear bumper and broken rear light.
Investigations revealed that 29-year-old Amid Vega, a call center agent of San Estevan Road, was driving the Toyota pickup from Orange Walk Town toward San Estevan Village. Vega reportedly made a left turn into a dirt road when the Ford F-150, traveling behind him, attempted to overtake on the left side and collided into the rear of the Toyota.
The Ford F-150 was driven by 43-year-old Jacob Friesen, a construction worker of Camp 15, Shipyard Village.
Both drivers agreed to settle the matter through insurance. All vehicle documents were reported to be up to date.
A medico form was issued to Vega after he complained of shoulder and head pain. Both individuals were advised to visit the police station to provide formal statements.
