By Belize Live News Staff: Residents are expressing outrage after a viral video captured the moment a man allegedly assaulted a student inside a Belmopan supermarket.
In the video, the man is seen calmly entering the store. Shortly thereafter, two women leave the establishment with a young boy following behind them. As they exit, the suspect suddenly turns toward the child and throws a punch that sends the boy crashing to the ground.
Witnesses were left stunned as the child appeared to be knocked unconscious. The attacker immediately fled the scene before assistance could reach the victim.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the suspect, but images from the footage are being shared widely in hopes that someone will recognize him. Observers have noted similarities between this incident and two previous assaults in Belize City involving a man who randomly attacked women in public.
Investigations are ongoing as the community calls for justice and increased public safety measures.
