Police seek help locating missing Belize City woman

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are asking the public for assistance in locating Shala Shalene Smith, who has been reported missing by her common-law husband.

The report was made on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, around 8:00 a.m., when the woman’s partner visited the Precinct Two Crimes Investigation Branch in Belize City.

According to the report, Smith left her residence on Friday, February 6th, 2026, to attend a party at Bizzo on Caesar Ridge. She has not returned home since and has not been seen or heard from up to the time of the report.

Smith was last seen wearing orange short pants, an orange blouse, black slippers, and a long black weave. She is described as dark-complexioned, slim-built, and approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall.

Police have recorded a statement, sent out all-formations messages, and checked available surveillance footage, though no useful information was obtained. Investigations continue.
