By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a major collision involving a passenger bus and a pickup truck that left multiple people injured on the George Price Highway on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened during rainy conditions on a wet and slippery roadway. Both vehicles involved suffered severe damage to their front sections, highlighting the force of the collision.
Authorities say the passenger bus was operating legally and was insured and licensed at the time of the crash. The pickup truck involved was also reported to be insured and licensed. Officers confirmed that both drivers held valid Belize driver’s licenses appropriate for the vehicles they were operating.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, assisting injured occupants and securing the scene. No fatalities were reported, and police confirmed that none of the injuries appeared life threatening.
The vehicles are scheduled to undergo mechanical inspection as part of the ongoing investigation. Police continue to gather documentation and statements to determine responsibility for the crash.
Motorists are being urged to exercise extreme caution when driving in rainy conditions, especially along busy highways where reduced visibility and slick roads increase the risk of accidents.
