By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Business Chamber of Spanish Lookout is urging authorities to take decisive action following a series of robberies and the fatal shooting of a delivery driver, warning that violence is becoming normalized.
In its statement, the chamber said the attacks on delivery personnel represent not only crimes against individuals, but a direct threat to commerce, livelihoods, and national stability. The group emphasized that these crimes have persisted for far too long without sufficient deterrence
The chamber is calling for increased police patrols, targeted enforcement, and meaningful consequences for violent offenders. It also expressed solidarity with the family and coworkers of the slain driver, as well as all delivery workers who face daily risks while keeping the economy moving.
The statement concluded with a firm message that Belize must not accept violence as normal and that protecting lives and livelihoods must be treated as a national priority.
