By Belize Live News Staff: A 9mm handgun is now in police custody following a determined search by police officers on Armadillo Street. The search was sparked by a shooting incident that took place at roughly 12:00 AM on December 25th.
Following leads provided by the Special Branch, police officers returned to the vicinity of Queen Square Primary School at 8:40 PM on Friday evening. While searching the drainage system by hand, the officer located a mud-covered 9mm HI-Power brand pistol of Argentinian manufacture.

The scene was processed by forensic experts to ensure all evidence was properly documented. The weapon will undergo testing at the National Forensic Science Services to determine if it matches the ballistics from the Christmas Day shooting.
