By Belize Live News Staff: What should have been a time of celebration turned into a scene of tragedy in the Toledo District today. A 25-year-old construction worker, identified as Archibald Ferrill, was fatally shot in the early hours of Christmas morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. in Bella Vista Village. Police received reports of multiple gunshots echoing through an unnamed street on the eastern side of the community. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered Ferrill’s body lying face down in a pool of blood.
Preliminary examinations indicated that the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were called to the site, where Ferrill was officially pronounced dead. Police have secured the area and are currently canvassing for witnesses or any surveillance footage that may lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
