By Belize Live News Staff: Police have confirmed that a delivery truck belonging to Recinos Imports Limited was robbed along the Hummingbird Highway on Thursday evening, resulting in the deaths of two employees.
According to police, the truck was intercepted while traveling along the highway, and both the driver and the sideman were forcibly removed from the vehicle. Further investigations revealed that the two men were later found dead in a nearby area, confirming the incident as a violent robbery.
Police processed the scene and are continuing investigations to determine how the robbery occurred and to identify those responsible. The incident has raised renewed concerns about safety along Belize’s major highways.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the robbery and killings to come forward as investigations remain ongoing.
