By Belize Live News Staff: A search operation carried out by the Mobile Interdiction Unit and Customs officers on Mony Mel Street resulted in the arrest of a man found with an unlicensed CZ 9mm pistol.
Officers say they discovered the firearm inside a wooden bureau while executing a search warrant. The magazine reportedly held three live S&B 9×19 rounds. When questioned, the man admitted he did not possess a license for the weapon.
He was detained, taken to the Orange Walk Police Station, and the firearm and ammunition were processed as exhibits. He later identified himself as Jean Claude Peraza, 33, a Belizean delivery worker.
Peraza was formally charged with kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license.
