Belize secures UNESCO recognition for Krismos Bram and Sambai traditions of Gales Point

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize made history today in New Delhi, India, after UNESCO officially added the Krismos Bram and Sambai cultural practices of Gales Point “Malanti” Village to its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The nomination, years in the making, showcases Belize’s commitment to safeguarding traditional arts, community celebrations, and ancestral knowledge. Delegates expressed pride in witnessing Belize’s cultural heritage being honored on the world stage.

UNESCO’s recognition marks a significant step for the people of Gales Point, strengthening efforts to preserve and pass on their traditions to future generations.
