By Belize Live News Staff: Orange Walk police continue to investigate a deadly shooting that occurred late Saturday night on Progress Street, where a man was found fatally wounded inside his home.
Investigators say residents reported hearing a series of gunshots around 11:00 pm. When police were later called to the scene, they learned that the victim’s partner had returned home shortly after midnight and discovered the door open. Upon entering, she found forty five year old Beris Nehemaya Anglin lying on the floor with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Police described the victim as wearing a blue shirt and three quarter black pants. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to both the head and body. A total of fourteen nine millimeter expended shells were recovered from inside the home, indicating that several shots were fired during the attack.
No arrests have been made, and authorities say the motive remains unknown. Officers have been canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing information as they work to identify those responsible. The investigation remains active.
