Snack shop in Orange Walk burglarized, thousands in goods reported stolen

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a burglary at a small snack shop located on the Belize Corozal Road in Orange Walk Town. The complainant reported that she secured the business at about 5:00 pm on December 3 and returned the next morning around 5:45 am. Upon arrival, she found that a wooden louver window had been pried open.

Inside, the building had been ransacked. Several household items, food containers, kitchen equipment, appliances, soft drink cases, furniture, utensils, a gas tank, small electronics, and cash in coins were all missing. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at three thousand three hundred and four dollars.

Police visited the scene with crime scene personnel who processed and photographed the area. Officers canvassed nearby businesses and obtained surveillance footage. No arrests have been made and none of the stolen property has been recovered. The investigation continues.
