By Belize Live News Staff: Ladyville authorities are investigating a hit and run accident that took place on the Phillip Goldson Highway on Friday evening, December 5, 2025. Police officers arrived around 7:00 pm and found a purple and black LF125 5 Lifan motorcycle lying on its side in front of a supermarket. Nearby, a male pedestrian was found on the roadway with abrasions and pain to his arm.
Preliminary surveillance footage shows the pedestrian walking with two other individuals before attempting to cross the highway. At approximately 6:52 pm, he was struck by a motorcycle travelling from Belize City toward Ladyville, causing him to fall and receive injuries.
The footage also shows that the motorcycle rider, after receiving brief assistance from a witness, fled the scene on foot. He left the injured pedestrian and the motorcycle behind. The rider was dressed in a fluorescent green shirt and dark pants. The motorcycle, which lacked a license plate, insurance, and license stickers, was impounded at the Ladyville Police Station with visible damage to the headlamp.
Emergency medical personnel transported the pedestrian to KHMH for further care. Police conducted scene documentation, including sketches and photographs, and began reviewing surveillance footage. Statements have not yet been collected, and the rider has not been identified. The investigation remains active.
